Nope! Little League rules indicate your child is assigned to a team based on a drafting method. If you have a 9-year-old, he or she could end up in any of the Two divisions. It's based on your child's ability, not the parent's desire. Only on rare occasions will the board permit a "pre-draft" decision for early placement. If you really want your child on a specific team, sign up as a head coach/manager and volunteer. That's the only way.
After the tryouts, the coaches for Rookie, Minor, and Major divisions will meet to draft the players. This will occur Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday FOLLOWING the draft. On Friday the 10th of February, the board will meet and assign the Coach Pitch/T-Ball players. You should hear from your assigned coach no later than March 3rd.
